FINDING A NEW DENTIST IN YOUR AREA

Unpacking and moving into a new home is exciting, but did you include finding a dentist in Chicago on your to do list? Moving from one side of the country to the other takes planning. Not only do you have to make sure that your utilities are turned on, but you also need to find a new doctor and a new dentist in Chicago.

Hopefully you got some recommendations before you left. If you forgot, call your friends and family members for help. If you trust your new neighbor who surprised you with a casserole dish to welcome you to the neighborhood, find out who Amber trusts to look after her families, teeth, and gums.

One of the best ways to find a new dentist is to head to the World Wide Web. It may seem overwhelming at first, but you can narrow your search. Type in dentists in your area and look for those that are at the top of the list. The first three that are highlighted are Google ads, scroll down a bit further and you will find a few websites that are actual search engines that can help you find a new dentist. If you are in need of a dentist in Chicago, type in the services that you are looking for. Dentists specialize in certain areas, so if you are looking for a family dentist or a pediatric dentist, type it in.

Online reviews are another great way to find a new dentist. Yelp isn’t just for eateries. Look for honest reviews and try to stick with those who have at least four stars. Bad reviews can happen, but if there is more than one, it’s time to move on.

The American Dental Association is another place to head for dentists in Chicago. Type in your location and you will see a list of dentists who have been recommended by the ADA.

After you have chosen a few dentists, Go to the dental websites and research each one on your list. Check out their products and services and make sure that the hours are suitable to your schedule. If the second dentist on your list is only open a couple of days a week, cross the name off your list.

Most dental websites will have as much information as possible. Look for dental websites with great content. Check out credentials, and make sure that the dentist you have in mind is continually keeping up with the latest dental trends by attending classes, workshops, and seminars.

If the dental website has a gallery, look at the pictures. Take a virtual tour of the dental office and look for clean and modern dental equipment, and check the waiting room for comfort. The last thing you want to see is a few folding chairs and outdated magazines. A comfortable waiting room should have current reading material and a television set to keep you occupied.

Once you have decided on a new dentist, make the call. The person who answers the phone is your first contact with the dental office. Talk to the receptionist. If a friendly voice answers the phone and is able to answer any questions that you might have in an informative matter, make the appointment and cross finding a new dentist off the to do list.
